Art + Anatomy book Recommendations
Edit: updating this for new followers who might want to see this :D
15 books I recommend for anatomy, art fundamental study and art inspiration. Please note that these are simply my personal recommendations and books that's helped me a lot in the past.
I've taken photos for these books, so Here's a less image-heavy list (on tumblr)
This took so much longer than I first anticipated so I really hope people find this helpful cause, seriously, spending 3 days on this does not feel like it was worth it ^^;
edit: I'm putting the tl;dr list here first as a preview of the books I'm recommending.

I've recently left my job in the game industry so that I could focus more of my time and attention on Lackadaisy. Patreon is my weapon of choice in trying to see this to fruition.

Notes on Character Design
I received the question pictured below at my tumblr blog. In case it's useful to anyone here, I decided to go ahead and use this otherwise dormant journal to share the article I put together in response.
Character design and drawing are tome-sized topics and even if I had all the answers (I don't - I h

The Matter of the Masses
I've been painting for a few years now, but I feel like I'm only beginning to grasp the importance of this concept. I'll quote Robert Henri (1865-1929) from his book, The Art Spirit, which is packed full of such profound wisdom.
Robert Henri stresses this point:
"Insist on the beauty of form and color to be obtained from the composition of the largest masses, the four or five large masses which cover your canvas. Let these above all things have fine shapes, have fine colors. Let them be as meaningful of your subject as they possibly can be. It is wonderful how much real finish can be obtained through them, how much of gesture and modeling
2012 has seen projecteducate (https://www.deviantart.com/projecteducate) advance with the changing times here on deviantART and become an official group! That means that it has been a lot easier to bring you all the information, features, interviews and articles as part of various Project Educate weeks. So with the functions of groups at our fingertips, the articles shared are all in organised gallery folders for ease - all of which are linked in this article.

Images on dA can easily be linked with thumbcodes.
While on a deviation page, all you have to do is scroll down and look right until you see:
Copy and paste the thumb code.

understand a painting study dont just copy
This is purely an observation from my point of view but whenever i see a study or painting based on a masterpiece or a screen plate. The results are almost in every case very good.So this tells me that our ability to copy is quite good and its not really required to be a high level artist.Junior level to mid level ones can pull this off easily too. Everything you need to know is already in the image we are trying to copy so it becomes a recipe for us.
the important thing though is to not "copy" it but to understand it and deconstruct a work method from it.And if you understand that then the work based from your own mind will be alot better.

'Life Drawing 5' by algaegoblin (https://www.deviantart.com/algaegoblin)
Do you know how to sketch human figures but do you want to refine your anatomy skills? Or do you not know anatomy at all and you are tired to trust your imagination? Did you notice you create disproportions in your drawings?
If you are aspiring artists and you already have your own style, you might as well believe you have no need of a guide, but you are wrong. Before exaggerating human proportions and begin to have your own style, you first have to know the basics.
This little guide is the result of an accurate research and 5 years of high school of art, and it's created for all those who want to learn s
